Fashionably Lost in Bangkok

Hi fashion world!  We meet again. I want to share with you my travel experience to Bangkok, Thailand last summer and the trials and tribulations faced fashionably during my visit. I was so excited when a dear friend of mine invited me to come to visit the beautiful country of Thailand. The moment I booked my flight I began to plan what to pack and the hunt for new clothes was on.  I ripped up the shopping malls and online boutiques purchasing some great fashion pieces. From hats, to swimwear, shorts, clutches, shoes, shirts, I was on a mission to serve and slay Thailand. So the day arrived and it was travel time. My flight was long I tell you that. I was fortunate to have a layover in Tokyo, Japan. Finally it was time to board my flight in Japan and off to Thailand.

By the time I arrived in Bangkok, I remember it being night time there and humid. I proceeded to the baggage claim to get my luggage. By the time I reached the baggage claim I saw the bag I had my shoes in arrived, but no sign of my suitcase. I waited and waited..no suitcase. So I met my friend along with my other good friend that traveled with me and we stayed up all night trying to locate my luggage over the phone with all the airlines and airports we passed through. No one could locate my luggage and my only hope was that my clothes would eventually show up by the next day or two.  I was stuck in Thailand with the clothes on my back and a weekend bag with only my shoes. I cried like I lost my best friend lol. I was so devastated and was asking myself what do I do…. literally I have nothing.

My first day of sightseeing in Thailand had to be put on hold to run to the nearest mall. Yeessss I said to myself….a H&M lol. Right away I shopped until I dropped. My friend I stayed with gave me a few of her clothes to wear. She luckily just went to Victoria’s Secret and was able to give me some brand new under clothes. A friend she met in Thailand also brought over clothes for me to borrow. A stranger I had never met was willing to give me the clothes off her back literally. I was so overwhelmed with the support I had from my friends and strangers.  I got over being devastated and decided to make the best of my trip. I even got a chance to book a professional photo shoot while there. I share this with you because life will certainly throw you curve balls in a heartbeat, but its how we overcome these moments is what helps us to grow. To this day, my luggage was never recovered. After going back and forth with the airlines, they finally cut me a check for my lost. While I was able to recover some items, others had to be taken as a lost. With my H&M newly bought clothes and borrowed clothes, I took my pics feeling blessed for the opportunity to be in Thailand. Life was good and for that experience I will always be thankful!

Paradise Slay

I recently visited Montego Bay, Jamaica as a quick vacation getaway and had such a relaxing and amazing time. It’s always a blessing when people have the opportunity to step away from their hectic lives and to turn off reality for just a second to enjoy the luxury of paradise. If you are like me, as any trip narrows down the big question is where do I begin with swimwear shopping. I’m super picky and always like to push the edge of fashion with my swimwear.  So after doing some hunting and looking at one pieces and  bikini sets, I decided to go with my inspired Madonna/Paula Abdul/Selena bustier bikini top (Asos)and an abstract bikini bottom (Target) in the first picture. Asos was actually sold out of the bikini bottom that matched, but I didn’t let that stop me from being creative and finding a bottom that would compliment the piece as a whole. This is the beauty I love of mixing and matching bikini tops and bottoms. No one knows if the pieces actually go together until you spill the beans like me lol. In the second picture, I went to amazon and did a search on “monokinis” and came across this emerald green flowered fringe monokini (RELLECIGA) and in the third picture I purchased a multi-color monokini from Happy Sailed .  I was a little worried about this one as any wrong move and the girls would have been exposed if you know what I mean lol. All in all, I had an amazing time and enjoyed my photo shoot on the beach slaying. I hope this inspires you to be edgy in your swimwear and hunty don’t forget to SLAY!

Incognito and Rural Living

Hello fashion world.. I’ve missed you all so much  and I know I’ve been incognito. It’s been a few months as life has been hectic lately, but in a good way though. So let me start off by getting caught with my rural living look.
I spent some time in Idaho back in April. Let me tell you this. I never thought in a million years that I would have step foot on the soil of Idaho. I’m a true city girl at heart and rural living is quite foreign to me. So when I got the opportunity to visit I didn’t know what to expect and was a little nervous as to how I would adapt to the culture. Upon my arrival, I became engulfed in a therapeutic zone of beautiful green fields and high sandy mountains that seem like they would only exist out of a painting. The wildlife had a life I could only envy as herds migrated oh so comfortably like they didn’t have a care in the world. Sounds like my type a living. So being a city girl I tried to pull together an outfit that I could try to fit in as a local lol. I decided to pull out my plaid flannel shirt from (Target) as a envisioned how I would dress being on a farm forced to milk cows lol. I grabbed an inexpensive straw hat from (Walmart) in Idaho and picked up some hiking boots from (R.E.I) to brace myself through the rocky trails. I didn’t expect to gain so much peace and tranquility and an appreciation for pure nature. I truly miss Idaho. I was so at peace with life visiting there . I hope you enjoy my look and it inspires you if you ever find yourself adapting to rural living.

Get Hippie at Coachella

Yeeeaaaah Coachella is here!!! Well actually in Cali lol. Coachella is one of the most fashionable events I look forward to each year. Just a little background for those unaware of Coachella, it’s a Music and Arts festival located in Indio, California that showcase the talents of well-known artist and  music artist. People from all over come to hear good music, see art and overall let their hair down to have a great time with friends and love ones. In addition, it always give many the opportunity to tap into their  hippie, flower child inspired fashion ranging from fringe to kimonos. Any fashion piece that screams hippie is displayed at this event. Here is my inspired Coachella look. I had so much fun pulling this together. I hope I inspire you all to be free, wild and hippie.

Date Nights Couture

Date nights are ultimately one of the best nights I look forward to. During the week it’s quite difficult to pull myself together fashion and make-up wise as I’m always on a time crunch. Sure I still pull myself together to at least look half decent lol, but I don’t get a chance to play dress up in my closet.  After a long work week and dance mom duties, date nights give me the freedom to show my fashionable side. I get to be edgy, sexy, flirty, sophisticated or even casual-depending on my mood. Check out some of my favorite looks I personally styled below. Don’t let the prices scare you..please lol. Gain inspiration and pull together a look with affordable prices that makes you feel comfortable.  Hope you enjoy the looks and please feel free to offer feedback or suggestions if you would like to me to style other looks of inspiration.
